USA - The West April 2012 Yellowstone National Park Part 4

Day 7

Being the last day on our itinerary for the Yellowstone National Park, we planned to visit the main attraction of this area .... the GEYSERS!! They are main reason why Yellowstone National Park was first established in 1872 as the first national park in the USA!! Yellowstone National Park also contains approximately one half of the world's hydrothermal features. There are over 10,000 hydrothermal features, which include some 300 geysers in the park.

The main geothermal activities concentrate around the Noris Geyser Basin, Monument Geyser Basin, Lower Geyser Basin, Midway Geyser Basin and Upper Geyser Basin. As it was impossible to cover the entire area in a day, so we decided to explore the Noris Geyser Basin, Midway Geyser Basin and the Upper Geyser Basin as well as the Yellowstone Grand Canyon.
