Day 5
Entrance into Grand Teton National Park |
As usual, we departed early in the morning and headed to
Grand Teton National Park. To get the most of the trip, we decided to take the
Wyoming Centennial Scenic Byways which drive crosses the Continental Divide and
give us the opportunity to loop both Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone
National Park.
Along the route you’ll be presented with dramatic scenery
and diverse landscapes and wilderness that can hardly be matched from other
areas in the USA. We managed to spot a few elks roaming in the fields as we passed
by. Best to be visited from late spring till late autumn as the byways is
closed during winter season. Our trip in April was pretty much challenged with
the most unexpected weather condition as it was really cloudy and snowing on
our way up the rugged mountains. So gone
our picture perfect photos opportunity for us to capture the beauty of this
spectacular place….
Pretty much unprepared, the southern entrance into
Yellowstone National Park was closed and the only way to enter the park was
through the northern entrance that was scheduled to open the next day! Guess what??? The northern entrance is located
in Montana…..some over 350 miles from here….
Leaving Wyoming, we passed into Idaho ….the potato state. We
proceeded to a small town at the West entrance to the park along the way and
checked-in into a nice cozy motel for a good night sleep and rest. Tomorrow, a
long drive awaits us….
